It was the best days of that summer, I've participated in the International youth exchange project "Innovative ideas for independent future" (with the support of the European Union), organized by Lina Uzkuraityte and Jurgita Jakubauskaite from Lithuania . July 1-10. 2012 :))
Each country (Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and Georgia) had to bring some examples of old crafts or techniques. After the presentation, during the project youngsters working in international groups created totally new products using things from second raw materials and their cultural heritage.

Natalia Banduła (Poland), Sandro Licelli (Georgia), Skirmantas Reičiūnas (Lithuania), Galina Galia Parshutina (Russia), Marta Juksha (Latvia), Nasta Kartull (Belarus). The team found the inspiration while walking around the old city Vilnius, visiting art galleries and colorful small souvenir shops. It was decided to produce some product using Georgian technique of work with metal and several ways of carving and knitting for example Belarusian and Japanese. The best way of connecting such techniques in a one product came as jewelers items. To evaluate the project there was reused different kinds of leather and metal from beer cans. For the work there was needed sharp scissors, glue, special equipment for carving on metal and threads. The team has produced 15 different items suitable for girls, women and men. The total cost of each item is 1 Litas, but using the marketing skills the cost may be increased.
Nino Gurgenidze made a decorative fan using such raw materials as Chinese chopsticks and two different kinds of textiles. Men’s tie was also used to make this fan. Doll “Nice Alice” was made by Pasha Labotski. Used materials: part of umbrella; cardboard; hot glue, pistol glue; paint. Sun Symbol: wood; paint gold; spikes. Ola Peisert. And knitting from the plastic bottle (plastic yarn) by the leader of the Latvian team.

Project: jewelry box from different kind of broken pieces and mirror frame from paper. Materials: Jewelry box – cardboard, old textile, broken glass and ornament pieces, paper, glue, paint. Mirror frame: old paper, foam paper, glue, little bit of paint for the background. Technic: painting, paper rolling, gluing, composition making.
Amanda Boka (Latvia), Gabrielė Ganžaitė (Lithuania), Agnieszka Karolczyk (Poland), Boris Ef (Russia), Nino Gurgenidze (Georgia), Kate Thapelik (Belarus). Product: Lamp ‘Sky Star‘ We made a star shaped lamp out of raw materials. Youth used plastic bottles, LED lamps and a star shaped base. From plastic bottles they made strings on which we hung parts of plastic bottles as well. It was a decoration for a base of lamp. On a star shaped base glued three LED lamps. Then we made a handle and hung it in a barn.
So, that was really fantastical project for hand-made creators.
